Local shops
The local shop and Post Office in Ampleforth sells basic supplies and fresh produce. There is a small Co-op supermarket in Helmsley (4 miles) and larger Tesco, Lidl and Aldi supermarkets in Thirsk (12 miles).
Local outdoor markets are held in Helmsley on Fridays, and in Thirsk on Mondays and Saturdays.
Helmsley also has a good selection of bakeries, deli's and ice cream shops selling delicious local produce.
